Abstract Guidelines and Submission

SalivaDirect welcomes abstract submissions from laboratory scientists, researchers, public health professionals, and others. Abstracts will be selected based on their scientific merit, timeliness, significance, and adherence to our requirements below. Authors of accepted abstracts will either be invited for an oral presentation of their research or to participate in a poster session.

Abstracts should be broadly related to the following areas:

  • Research projects investigating saliva as a sample type, including pathogen and biomarker detection for infectious and chronic disease

  • Sample preparation methods

  • Innovation in diagnostic devices, including point of care devices, biosensors, materials, and others

  • Novel community engagement and/or public health programs focused on bringing the laboratory closer to the community

  • Research on clinical laboratory management, laboratory information management systems, and other aspects pertaining to the operation of clinical laboratories

Abstract Requirements

We ask all abstracts to be at most 300 words (max 2000 characters). Please submit your structured abstract using the following section headings:

  • Background

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Conclusion
